Food Article Summary

Obesity is becoming a problem in the American society and will spread world wide, mostly because of our abundance of fast food restaurants. However, a fact most people don't realize is that many unhealthy food companies and restaurants are creating partnerships with health care programs like charities hospitals and support groups. An article  called: “Partnership between organizations and the food industry risk derailing public health nutrition”, written by Yoni Freehoff and Paul Hebert, published by the Canadian Medical Association in 2011, briefly explains how companies trick us to believing certain foods are good for our daily diet when, obviously, they're not. In this article it is stated that the American Dietetic Association partnered with Hershey's encourages eating chocolate for a "balanced lifestyle". The type of people most likely to read an article like this would be those who are looking to go on a diet or are studying human behavior. The authors don’t specifically say their opinion in this article but do make their stand point on the issue clear. With the way many phrases are stated the authors believe unhealthy food companies shouldn’t be partnered with anything to do with health care, or corporations should at least limit how they use health brands. The author does a good job informing its readers about the issues.
